Have you checked your eligibility, selected your buildings, and are ready to apply for public housing?

If you are unable to apply online through our applicant portal, you can apply in-person or by mail using the application.

Register for our Applicant Portal

We encourage all applicants, no matter how they apply, to register for the online applicant portal and opt-in to email communication. Through our online portal, you can manage your application for public housing, update your information, and receive notifications.

The portal allows NSPHA to quickly communicate updates. It also gives you real time access to your application so you can make changes to ensure we can match you with suitable housing options.

You should update your application any time there is a change that affects your household's housing needs, such as an increase in household size, new contact information, or moving to a new address.

Choosing Your Unit

Applicants can choose where they want to live by selecting preferred buildings or areas. There is currently no limit on the number of selections an applicant can make. Given current demand for public housing and limited housing units in specific areas, selecting multiple locations and/or buildings may increase opportunities to be housed and reduce wait times.

You should update your application any time there is a change that affects your household’s housing needs, such as an increase in household size, or NSPHA’s ability to contact you, such as moving to a new address.

Applicants must update their household composition and income yearly to maintain their eligibility.

You can make changes to your application at any time through the Applicant Portal or by contacting one of our local offices.

To apply, you will need to complete the application form and submit a list of buildings for your area where you would accept a housing offer. If you are applying for priority access, you will need to submit the priority access referral form found below.
