Living in NSPHA Housing

NSPHA offers a variety of housing options for low-income Nova Scotians including seniors, families, individuals and couples. Tenants must be able to live independently and are responsible for arranging their own supports if needed. NSPHA does not operate long-term care facilities. 

We offer 1, 2 and 3+ bedroom apartments, single-family houses, multi-family duplexes, fourplexes and eightplexes.

You will need to select buildings where you wish to live to complete the application process.

Frequently Asked Questions

NSPHA allocates units in chronological order based on the date of application. The average time applicants spend on the waitlist is 2 years. 

Clients who have been approved for priority access are placed on the chronological waitlist ahead of general applicants. The average time spent on the waitlist for priority access applicants province-wide is 1.4 years.

Waitlist numbers are fluid and can change.

It is important that you keep your application up-to-date, including changes to your household size. These changes can be made online through our application portal or in-person at one of our District Offices.
